In California, electrical work is its own license classification. Beckler Electric holds a C-10 electrical contractor license, number 992068, and you can confirm it in seconds through the Contractors State License Board lookup. We mention that plainly because the difference between a licensed electrical contractor and a general handyman is not marketing language, it is what determines whether your work can be permitted, inspected, and covered by your insurer after the fact.
The license also carries obligations we are glad to be held to. We are insured, we pull permits where permits are required, and a licensed electrical contractor wires to the current California Electrical Code, and we do rather than to whatever was acceptable when the house was built. The code itself is adapted from the National Electrical Code published by the National Fire Protection Association, which is worth knowing if you ever want to look up why an inspector asked for something.
Practically speaking, that means when you hire us for a residential repair or panel upgrade, a commercial install, or an HOA community system, the paperwork side is handled and the work will pass. There is no version of this job where saving a few hundred dollars on an unlicensed installer is worth a failed inspection or a fire investigation. Hiring a licensed electrical contractor is the cheapest insurance on the project.
Joel Beckler runs the jobs himself, which is the main reason clients tend to come back. You are not handed off between a salesperson who quoted the work and a crew who has never seen the site. The person who walked your building and wrote the estimate is the licensed electrical contractor doing the install.
On restaurant and commercial kitchen projects, that continuity matters more than anywhere else. A build-out has a hard opening date, a health inspection, an electrical inspection, and a half-dozen trades competing for the same square footage. Knowing in advance which hood appliance hookups need dedicated circuits, where the high-demand loads will land, and how long the inspector will take is the difference between opening on schedule and pushing your launch by two weeks.
Residential work runs on the same principle at a smaller scale. Before anything is opened up we agree on what is being changed, what it will cost, and roughly how long you will be without power. Estimates are free and there is no obligation attached to them. If you would like to see finished work first, our project gallery and client reviews are the fastest way to judge whether we are the licensed electrical contractor you want on your property.
You can reach Joel directly at (949) 505-2681 or joelbeckler@gmail.com, or use the contact page to request an estimate. We answer emergency calls around the clock across Orange County, so there is a licensed electrical contractor on the other end of the phone at any hour.
