As more Orange County homeowners and businesses switch to electric vehicles, having a dedicated, properly installed charging station at home makes all the difference. Our team evaluates your panel capacity, runs a dedicated circuit, and installs your Level 2 charger safely and to code.
From single-family homes to HOA-managed communities and commercial lots, we handle the full process — including permits and inspections — so you can charge with confidence.
*Final pricing depends on panel capacity, wire run length, charger model and permit fees. We'll confirm an exact quote after a free on-site evaluation.

A Level 2 charger is one of the largest continuous loads a building can add, and it runs for hours at a time rather than in short bursts. That is why EV charger installation is a load-calculation problem before it is a mounting problem. Undersized conductors, a shared circuit, or a panel already near capacity will show up as nuisance tripping at best and as heat at the connection points at worst.

Every EV charger installation starts with the panel, not the driveway. We read the existing service size, count what is already connected, and run a load calculation to see how much continuous capacity is genuinely available. Only then does the conversation move to where the unit should hang and how the conduit will get there.
On a straightforward job the sequence is: load calculation, permit application, a dedicated circuit pulled from the panel to the charger location, mounting and terminating the unit, and a final inspection. Most single-family installs are a one-day visit once the permit is in hand. Where the panel is on the opposite side of the house from the parking, the run length is usually what moves the price rather than the charger itself.
Where capacity is short there are options short of a full service upgrade. A load-management device can let a charger share capacity with the rest of the house by backing off when demand peaks. Setting the charger to a lower continuous amperage is another, and for most drivers it makes no practical difference because the car sits overnight anyway. We will tell you which of those applies to your service before quoting an upgrade you may not need.
EV charger installation in California requires a permit and an inspection, and that is a good thing rather than an obstacle. It is the record that the circuit was sized correctly, and it is what an insurer or a future buyer will look for. Beckler Electric is a licensed C-10 electrical contractor, license number 992068, and we pull the permit and meet the inspector as part of the job rather than leaving it to you.
Rebates and utility programmes change often enough that we will not quote figures here. The Alternative Fuels Data Center maintains a current list of California incentives, and it is worth checking before you buy hardware, because some programmes require a specific charger type or a metered circuit.
Shared parking is its own problem. In condominiums and HOA-managed communities the garage service was sized decades before anyone anticipated charging, so an EV charger installation there usually means a load study first, then a choice between individually fed stalls, a shared circuit with load management, or a service upgrade the association budgets for. Our HOA electrical services page covers how those projects get scoped and approved by a board.
